The water vapour is created by an ultrasonic evaporator that only evaporates the water and does not heat it. The accessible electrical parts are powered at low voltage and pose no additional danger.

For the fireplace with flame effect you can use normal tap water as long as this is not considered hard water, if this is the case use water from a softener or distilled water with 1/8 teaspoon of salt (0.5 ml) added to the water tank. (The addition of additional salt should only be used when you notice that the unit is not producing mist as expected.)
