During the summer, but now, given climate change, always before, the threats from flies, mosquitoes and parasites multiply and if they generally annoy humans, the same applies even more for pets. At risk are especially those dogs and cats that spend a lot of time in the garden or on the terrace. Mosquitoes and parrots (scientifically called phlebotomists) are flying insects that are very common in Italy. Their stings are not always painful, but they cause annoying itches, which especially children and animals can hardly stand and the insistent scratching can lead to infections. But, besides causing annoyance and stress in the animals, these insects can also be vectors of serious and even incurable pathologies. The filariasis is caused by parasites, one of which at subcutaneous localization, usually asymptomatic, and one at cardiopulmonary level, which represents a serious risk for the health of the animal. The leishmaniosi is caused by a parasite that is transmitted to the dog (but also to the cat) through the bite of the females of parrots. The illness is chronic, with a period of incubation that goes from months to years and if not promptly treated it brings to the death.
For this reason it is indispensable to carefully protect our four-legged friends. Fortunately today we have a series of measures to protect animals from mosquitoes and to prevent these diseases in the best way possible, but it is necessary to avoid every single sting. In this way it is possible to protect even large spaces, with great relief for children, adults and animals.
With our mosquito nets, we can protect small terraces or our houses and protect animals from parasites. There are several types, but the principle they use is always the same: a light to attract flying insects, a fan to capture them and a container to trap them until they die; protect animals from harmful stings without using chemicals, which is important especially if you have small children or pets.
